Davor Grgic and I birded Sax-Zim and Hedbom Bogs in Minnesota on Friday and
Saturday, Feb 4-5 with great success. Sax-Zim Bog highlights: NO. HAWK OWL
(1), GREAT GRAY OWL (1), BLACK-BILLED MAGPIE (4), BOREAL CHICKADEE (3),
SHARP-TAILED GROUSE (1), NO. SHRIKE (2), NO. GOSHAWK (1) and GRAY JAY (6).
Hedbom Bog highlights: BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKER (2) and GRAY JAY (6). Also
many PINE GROSBEAK, COM. REDPOLL and 1 PINE SISKIN.
