My wife talked me into going birding today, since it was going to be so warm.

I am glad she was able to get me out there because we did see the Townsend's
Solitaire at Devils Lake.
However, we did not see any Eagles, Golden or Bald, flying in the area. With a
nice breeze this was a little surprising.

We stopped at the Sauk-Prairie Canoe Launch where we did see four eagles.
The unexpected bird there was a Peregrine Falcon perched in a tree just across
the river from the launch area.
Wonder if this is one of the Madison falcons which decided to spend the winter
along the river?

Anyway, it was a nice day to be out.

Good birding.
