We were driving north on Taylor Drive in Sheboygan just now, between Saemann
Ave & Geele Ave. On the west side of the road is the huge Field of Dreams
soccer area; on the east side of the road is a gigantic grassy/weedy vacant
lot (covers almost the whole block). Much to our amazement, there were 2
Sandhill Cranes calmly strolling and dining in the vacant lot only 15 feet
from Taylor Drive! We've seen Red-tailed Hawks soaring over this lot and
perched in the few tall trees; but seeing cranes here was a first!!! The
joys of urban birding! : )
