This evening I walked west along the Glacial Drumlin Trail as it continues past Gramling Rd. At least 330 Sandhills were loafing & foraging in the vast farm fields to the south of the trail. In years past, this has always been a terrific spot to see higher numbers of this species in the Spring. Also observed were a Northern Harrier, Belted Kingfisher, and Great Blue Heron. I wrapped up the evening with calling Great Horned Owls and two Woodcock at the UW Field Station.
