Hi Here is information from the one of the banders at Cedar Grove along Lake Michigan. "We haven't noticed any Red Crossbills but there sure have been a lot of Cedar Waxwings the passed few days. If I recall correctly, there were over three thousand on Sunday. Well, they've had a few big days, including 1,252 on Aug 24 alone, and they've now tallied 3,781 Red Crossbills from Aug 15-26. And surely they will count many more today. Incredible! Is anyone out trying to document such flights along the Lake Michigan shore? No doubt there are significant overhead flights taking place there as well.
