This morning at about 8:15, Nolan Pope and I were walking at a very quiet Pheasant Branch when we met up with a couple of birders who told us they had a brief glimpse of a PRAIRIE WARBLER. We looked around for about 5 minutes, when they found it again. We all got very clear views of it from about 20 feet away. A few minutes later, I was watching a Palm Warbler fly into some brush, where it was chased away away by a male Black-Throated Blue. A few minutes after that, Mike McDowell and Jesse Peterson came along and also got good looks at both birds. Then, we all got our phones out and started a phone tree going. Over the next couple of hours, a number of birders got fine, close views in full sunlight of both birds, along with Pine, Nashville, and Palm Warblers, and both Watherthrushes, all at the same spot just east of the Parmenter St. bridge. My warbler list for this morning at Pheasant Branch: Black Throated Green Black Throated Blue Pine Prairie Palm Nashville Black and White Yellow Yellow-Rump Blackburnian Redstart Common Yellowthroat Louisisna Waterthrush Northern Waterthrush Mike and Jesse also saw Orange-Crowned and Blackpoll Warblers. Other nice sightings included Blue-Headed and Warbling Vireos, and FOY Catbirds. -- The Gorman-Baers: Catherine, Peter, Johanna, and Eliza gormbaer@xxxxxxxx #################### You received this email because you are subscribed to the Wisconsin Birding Network (Wisbirdn).
