Saw a Red-necked Grebe on Park Lake in Pardeeville this afternoon on the north
shore with some cormorants and coots. Also had an Eared Grebe and Schoeneberg
Marsh and a Common Moorhen at Grassy Lake. 89 species on the half-day in the
rain.

"There is symbolic as well as actual beauty in the migration of birds. There is
something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature - the assurance
that dawn comes after night, and spring after the winter."
