Nolan Pope just called - he and several other birders relocated the
Pacific Loon on Lake Monona in Madison and are watching it from
approximately 400 yards away (much closer than I had it last night.)
They are currently at BB Clarke Beach, on the northwest shore of the
lake. Clarke is at the southwest end of Jenifer and Spaight Sts., a
mile or so northeast of the State Capitol building. Note that
Williamson St. is currently under reconstruction and is only open to
inbound traffic heading towards the Capitol. Nolan said the loon was
slightly east of their location.
