If you are an amateur or professional photographer (or somewhere in the
middle) with an interest in owls, hurry to claim one of the last four
spaces available for the Photographer's Brunch with the Owls on Sunday,
March 6 at the International Festival of Owls in Houston, MN.
Each registered participant will pair up with another photographer to
spend 10 minutes with each of four different owl species, for a total of
40 minutes photographing owls. The owls will be set up outdoors on
natural looking perches. Leather jesses on the owls will able to be
hidden in many cases, creating a natural look.

The species used will likely be Northern Saw-whet Owl, Long-eared Owl,
Barn Owl, and Short-eared Owl. As the photography sessions are
outdoors, weather will be a factor. In case of precipitation,
open-sided tents will be used outdoors in the same area. Please bear in
mind that the well-being of the owls is of the utmost importance, so we
reserve the right to make changes to the species lineup based on health,
training, and weather.

Photographers will also receive a complimentary brunch at Valley High
Golf Club, where the event is to be held.

Cost for this opportunity is $75/photographer. (Non-photographers are
welcome to eat at Valley High, but will not be permitted in the
photography area unless requested to assist a photographer.) Proceeds
will benefit the Houston Nature Center.

At this time the 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM slots are sold out, but four slots
remain at 11:00 AM. For more information visit
http://www.festivalofowls.com/owlphotosession.htm. To register click on
the yellow registration button on the left side of the page. If you
have questions, contact the Houston Nature Center at nature@xxxxxxxxxxx
