Hey fellow birders,  not much has been happening since I got out to the Milw.
field trip, but a couple
of notables have happened.  Heard my first singing cardinal on the  4th, and,
just as I stepped outside
yesterday I heard an unfamiliar winter finch call, probably because I haven't
heard a Red Crossbill call
in ages. assuming that's what it was since it was a soft repeated 'shhip' call
.    We're getting a gradual increase
in gulls around here, but no sign of oddities.  Otherwise, this is all from
Oshkosh,
Paul Bruce
