The Noel J. Cutright Bird Club's annual first Sunday in May field trip along
the Lake Michigan shoreline and inland in Ozaukee County produced 108 species
between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m.; highlights included a first year male Summer Tanager
on Lover's LANE Rd. and a Prothonotary Warbler and Red-headed Woodpecker at
Linion's Den Gorge Nature Preserve (to which the bird club made the initial
$1,000 donation toward its acquisition by the Ozaukee Washington Land Trust and
Ozaukee County many years ago). 14 warbler species, 9 sparrows and 5 shorebird
