As some people have been posting about new field guides I thought I would post this link to a new one that should be and probably is the next best field guide out there. If you are a fan of the the book, "The Shorebird Guide" then this new book should be even better and even more amazing. One of the photographers from "The Shorebird Guide", Richard Crossley is doing his own field guide. "The Crossley ID Guide: Eastern Birds" If you would like a nice write up about what this guide is like and how it is set up check out any of these links. The Barns & Noble site does a nice write up. Then the 10000birds.com site has some nice examples of what the pages will look like. This book looks to be available around the 21st of February so if interested pre-ordering now might be a good idea. The price is really nice for so many photographes and probably a really good book. So if you would like more details about this book check out either of these links. Oh and if you watch the video of him and this book idea on the B&N site it is very helpful and nice too.
