Yesterday we were successful in finding 5 species of gulls around Kimberly Point/Riverside Park in Neenah. These included a brief look at the Kittiwake and 2 Great Black-backed Gulls as they fed and frolicked in the gale like northeast winds among the thousands of Herring Gulls. Our day begin with nice long looks at 2 Carolina Wrens singing and foraging in leaf litter at Bay Beach in Green Bay. Then we added the Tufted Titmouse for Brown County that is continuing at feeders near Point au Sable. Although the day begin with rather warm temperatures and the start of what we thought would be a welcome spring-like day, it ended with a return to the long winter that we are having in NE Wisconsin. A side note for some that still are searching for Bohemian Waxwing. A small flock of 50-75 birds have returned to their usual feeding area around the intersection of Hwy C and U in southeast Florence Co. They were noted only briefly in the early fall of 2012 at this location.
