I was cutting buckthorn in the woods at Schlitz Audubon Nature Center yesterday when I discovered striking evidence of a srike. As I threw down a buckthorn, I saw that a dead, reddish-brown mouse was hanging from one of the branches. I looked closer and saw that it had a thorn sticking out it's back. Looked like it had been there for just a couple days. I took a photo on my cell phone, which I'll post soon. Keep your eye's open for shrikes and dead mice!
