Pike Lake this morning was busier than it has been but I'm now used to how slow the area buildup can be. Anyway, there were warblers around (bt green, palms, blue-winged myrtles, yellowthroats), but the highlight was a gorgeous male "Lawrence's" warbler- resulting from a "Brewster's" (blue-winged x golden -winged) mating with either a pure blue-winged or golden winged. But it was singing like blue-winged so that's most likely the parent. Prothonotary search at Elmwood Road came up dry. 55 white pelicans in the river floodplain and yellowlegs and pipits in muddy fields.
