Beautiful day yesterday. I walked my entire BIGBY route...about 10 miles. Not especially birdy, but there were a few highlights: * Three Black Scoters off of Bradford Beach...BIGBY species #202 for the year. * Six Turkey Vultures soaring along the lakefront. Common year-round everyday birds when I lived in southern Indiana. Not so common for me here in Milwaukee... * Double-crested Cormorants were providing photo-ops: - http://www.flickr.com/photos/14463444@N07/6281308676/in/photostream (my favorite) - http://www.flickr.com/photos/14463444@N07/6281312588/in/photostream - http://www.flickr.com/photos/14463444@N07/6281310650/in/photostream * American Coots were numerous in Lakeshore State Park: - http://www.flickr.com/photos/14463444@N07/6281314580/in/photostream * Horned Grebes are still pretty common. Here's one behind the art museum: - http://www.flickr.com/photos/14463444@N07/6281320906/in/photostream * Ruddy Duck at Lakeshore State Park. Kinda far away, but obviously a Ruddy Duck: - http://www.flickr.com/photos/14463444@N07/6280801825/in/photostream * Mystery fish washed up on Bradford Beach. About a foot long and very thin. Not much in the way of fins. Sort of eel-like. Could this maybe be a Sea Lamprey?? - http://www.flickr.com/photos/14463444@N07/6280805927/in/photostream * Still a lot of boats docked at McKinley Marina, despite the fact that November is just around the corner: - http://www.flickr.com/photos/14463444@N07/6280799597/in/photostream Bernie Sloan Milwaukee #################### You received this email because you are subscribed to the Wisconsin Birding Network (Wisbirdn).
