I was in Lake Park Yesterday morning as well. The White-crowned Sparrows were the most numerous species--I estimated at least 70. I did see the two (probably a pair) of Redheaded Woodpeckers. They were frequenting the big trees in the field to the southeast of the the feeder in the woods (which they also visited regularly). There were at least 7 Rose-breasted Grosbeaks and 4 Baltimore Orioles also visiting the feeder. The Orioles were feeding from suet, the first time I have ever seen that behavior. I also had a singing Wood Thrush, a Scarlet Tanager (which shone like a beacon in the dark canopy over the road at Locust Ravine), and a number of warblers. Warblers: Chestnut-sided, Magnolia, Yellow-rump, Palm, Black-throated Green, Am. Redstart, C. Yellowthroat, Blackburnian, Nashville, Black-and-White, Blackpoll. Also notable was a gloriously blue Indigo Bunting. And four skulking Lincoln's Sparrows.
