Hello, Had a relatively quiet but fun day. Our Carolina Wren was recaptured...I guess he likes the area. Species banded include: ruby-crowned kinglet, yellow-rumped warbler, winter wren, ovenbird, black-capped chickadee (2), white-throated sparrows (3) (there were boatloads of them around!), Swainson's thrush, hermit thrush, blue jays (2), and American robins (5) Recaptured several birds recently banded, including two ovenbirds, white-throated sparrow, black-capped chickadee, and the Carolina wren. Other species observed include: great-horned owl, yellow-bellied sapsucker, red-breasted nuthatch, and Northern flicker. Thanks to everyone for a great day! Next banding session will be Sunday, October 3rd. Please let me know if you plan on attending. Thanks! Cheers, Mickey Michelene M. O'Connor Zookeeper Milwaukee County Zoological Gardens 10001 W.
