Bob, Do you have rules/guidelines for which birds are countable for these list totals? It might be helpful to know what the standards are, so that comparisons of published list totals do not compare "apples with oranges." For example, should Whooping Crane be included on anyone's list? Should Barnacle Goose be included on anyone's list? Should identifiable subspecies (e.g. "Audubon's Warbler") be included on anyone's list? Should hybrids (e.g. "Nelson's Gull" or "Sutton's Warbler") be included on anyone's list? Should birds that have not been accepted by the WI Records Committee be countable? Are there other bird species that should or should not be included in these totals? Is it up to the individual birder as to what is counted for their lists?
