Hello! I birded for about three hours, from late morning until early afternoon. At Lake Park, I saw two small flocks of Fox Sparrows, my favorite sparrow. The first was in the hedge area near the treatment plant, and the second was behind the storage shed behind the bird feeders near the Wolcott statue. I also saw the following: Winter Wren Yellow-bellied Sapsucker Dark eyed Juncos White throated Sparrows Hermit Thrushes both kinglets Yellow-rumped Warblers I also got a nice look at a Pine Squirrel, too! At North Point, the only ducks present were a pair of Gadwall. Afterwards, I went behind the Cousins Center, which I had not visited before I went to see the White-eyed Vireo on Sunday. There is a huge field and lots of trees/scrub. My highlight there was a female Eastern Towhee. I saw many kinglets, Yellow-rumpeds, and Hermit Thrushes, too, plus a Red-eyed Vireo feasting, some Swamp Sparrows, lots of robins, chickadees, etc. A Red Admiral butterfly was flitting around, too. Just down the road, on my way home, I saw an American Kestrel alight on the top of a tall pine tree. A fun few hours of birding to be sure!
