I spent the morning birding along Lake Michigan in inland at a few spots. Six
Mile Rd was productive during the two times I checked it. Three meadowlarks, 6
Horned Larks, Savannah and Song sparrows, etc. Port Washington harbor was
quiet except for large numbers of geese and Red-br. Mergansers. Only a few
other ducks were seen including buffleheads, Black ducks, Com. Goldeneyes and
Mergansers.Harrington Beach SP was very quiet. Kohler SPyielded my only
Greater Scaup (7) but a worker had just restocked the feeders. The birds
really came including 2 Great Tits. Also seen with the other standard feeder
birds was a White-cr. Sparrow.Sheboygan was rather quiet but included
Ring-billed Gulls, a pair of Redheads and a Harlequin Duck.
It was a cloudy day (the sun is a rumor for the past week), with temps
struggling to get to 30 degrees. Nevertheless it was enjoyable day, despite
the continuing pandemic.
