Drove around for a few hours this afternoon. At the cornfield just northwest of Midway there was a nice assortment of dabblers as well as many Killdeer and Snipe, a Pectoral Sandpiper, and two Pipits. Then made my way into Trempealeau County where another flooded field provided Pintail and 20 Sandhills. Perot SP was the best for waterfowl with a thousand Tundra Swans, many species of puddle duck, some diving ducks, two Greater Yellowlegs, and a lone Greater White-fronted Goose amongst the swans. Downtown Trempealeau had a Glaucous Gull harassing some Herring Gulls. Trempealeau Lakes SWA offered a couple Fox Sparrows, Rusty Blackbirds, Pied-billed Grebe, Osprey, and many hundreds of Canvasback with all the standard diving ducks mixed in. Finally, back in La Crosse, an immature Thayer's Gull was present at the Black River Beach. Total of 55 species for the afternoon.
