I too heard Kinglets today (at Grant Park in So. Milwaukee.) It is warmer, but
I'm so surprised they're finding enough food!

Subject: [wisb] Kinglets, Milwaukee, and SS Yacht Club update

Hello,
I saw my first of year Golden-crowned Kinglets at Bayview Beach Park
(just
south of the Texas Ave overlook) this afternoon at around 4pm. There
were
4-5 of them flitting among some coniferous trees and they were soon
joined
by several vocal chickadees. All of the birds seemed to be
finding
something to eat.

The yacht club is still frozen over. I thought at
least the Nock St docks
would have open water today, but alas. Maybe tomorrow.
Iron street may take
several more days.
