I went to the internet and looked up different species of hummingbirds, but could not find any that fit the hummingbird that is in our backyard. I finally looked up immature ruby throat, and that is the closest to it. This bird does not act like the usual ruby throats that have graced our backyard. It is aggressive; it soars through the air catching insects; and it even chases the monarchs, but again we have never had a male ruby throat, so this may be a first time for us. Thanks for the help.
