I just wanted to mention ID of the pale gull I posted pictures about this afternoon. This gull is a 1st-cycle Kumlien's Gull. The dark bill, paleness overall throuhgout much of the body, and noteworthy field mark of the lacy-patterned lesser coverts (the outer-shoulder regions on the back of the wing). Kumlien's Gulls are just a little more robust in overall profile than a Ring-billed Gull (they don't have the streamlined-body look of the RB Gull), and are thicker-billed than the RB Gull as well. Thanks to John Idzikowski for helping with this one.
