Thanks to everyone that replied to my question about the call of the Red Knot. I've listened to a bunch of different ones, nothing with a real close match. This is a one in a million, but someone emailed me about checking into a curlew sandpiper. I just got done listening to the call online and it's actually darn close to what I remember hearing. I just hear a single part call and not the repeated "chirrip" on the tape. Another description that I found on Whatbird was that the Curlew Sandpiper flies with a " swift and direct flight with rapid wingbeats" This describes it perfectly. Anyway, I guess I should spend a bit less time photographing and a bit more studying shorebird ID! Obviously probably something else, but if at Horicon maybe be on the lookout a bit. I saw it on the last pond on the auto tour route coming in from the SW making a beeline towards Hwy 49 Dave FreriksChesapeake, OH/ SE WI #################### You received this email because you are subscribed to the Wisconsin Birding Network (Wisbirdn).
