out there yesterday so I was out looking for that. The snowy was found in the same ditch Tom described by the bend of the road by the water control structure. As I was standing there enjoying it a heron flew over and I knew immediately it was not a common local heron. It landed a ways down on the side of the ditch. I got the scope on it and sure enough, tri-colored heron, a life bird for me. On my way out I had talked to a couple other birders who told me the tri-colored heron had been seen by Ty and Ida Baumann in the morning, so I knew it was in the area. Little did I know I would get a year bird snowy egret and lifer tri-colored heron standing on the same spot. Exciting stuff!
