I have not been posting but I am still listening, looking and learning! Our
feeders in Forest County have been hosting 30-40 Redpolls regularly. I have
found a Hoary mixed in quite often this year. We have a few American
Goldfinches, an occasional Pine Siskin, two White breasted Nuthatches, two Red
breasted Nuthatches, up to 3 Downy Woodpeckers, 2 Hairys, 2 or 3 Red-bellied
Woodpeckers and 1 Pileated Woodpecker as regulars. Our Black-capped Chickadee
count varies from 4 to 15. We have up to 9 Blue Jays and 4 Mourning Doves who
visit also. For the first year, we have 3 Wild Turkeys who make a daily visit.
We had our first yard Evening Grosbeaks and Pine Grosbeaks in December. We have
not seen either since the second week of January. We birded to find some
Crossbills but have not had any in the yard.
