Peter Gorman, Peter Fissel, and I birded Frautschi Point on the UW-Madison campus this morning. It was fairly quiet to begin with. However, things picked up along the edge of Lake Mendota and the Biocore Praire. Highlights were a Yellow-throated Vireo, two American Redstart, two Black-and-white Warbler, two Northern Parula, and a Magnolia Warbler. There are good numbers of Winter Wren (skulking in the understory) and Hermit Thrush throughout the preserve. Good birding.
