In the past two days (Wed. & Thurs.), while driving back and forth from Antigo to Wausau, I've seen my first E. Meadowlark, 3 Turkey Vultures, a Northern Harrier, a lone Common Merganser on the Eau Claire river and 4 Canada Geese I've also been seeing lots of Kestrels, a Northern Shrike, a beautiful light phase Rough-legged Hawk (one of my favorites), a Red-tailed Hawk being chased by a crow and lots of turkeys hanging out in fields with the deer. A couple of weeks ago I heard a Bluebird, but never did see it. We also had a Red-tailed Hawk catch a Red Squirrel out in out backyard a few days ago. Oh yeah, I just saw another Turkey Vulture flying over Wausau as I was coming in on Hwy. 52 this morning. It sure is nice to see all the activity.
