Did a quick check around the Lakefarm area. Swan pond had a single Wood Duck and quite a few canvasbacks. Larsen road was rather devoid of birds. Only a few teal of both species and a couple mallards. Had 6 Golden Crowned Kinglets, 4 Common Loons, Buffleheads, Red Breasted Mergansers, and Lesser Scaup at Lakefarm. A short lap around Nine Springs turned into a chase after the Baird's Sandpipers. No Baird's, but there were a few Wilson's Snipe, Greater Yellowlegs and Pectoral Sandpipers and the usual ducks. The highlight of the day was accidentally sneaking up on a Greater White Fronted Goose sitting on the path. I turned the corner and there it was about ten feet away. Nice to see one up close instead of 200 yards away. Rowan Stamm, Dane County#################### You received this email because you are subscribed to the Wisconsin Birding Network (Wisbirdn).
