My experience is pretty much the opposite, Bob. I've been seeing Coops in a
lot of different places. We even had a flyover at Wyalusing while we were
trying to spot the Yellow-throated Warbler over our heads. There's a nest just
down the street from my house, so I hear them in the neighborhood quite a bit,
and find piles of feathers in my yard pretty regularly. They've nested in the
immediate area for several years, but this was the first time I've been able to
confirm it.

Subject: [wisb] Cooper's Hawks in decline?
Has anybody else noticed the drop in Cooper's Hawks in the last couple of
years? I never used to be able to watch the birds in our yard without seeing a
hawk at least a couple of times a week. I haven't seen one in our yard all
year. FYI: Our yard is full of bird feeders, approximately 30 right now and
there are always birds here.
