This is from Greg Septon - Something very strange occurred on March 29 at the Valley Power Plant nest box in downtown Milwaukee. In the 9 a.m. image, a falcon is standing over 2 eggs with its beak pointed at the eggs. In the 10 a.m. web cam image, the falcon is still standing over the eggs and appears as if she's eating. In the 11 a.m. image, there is no sign of the eggs, and one falcon is present. Then in the 12 p.m. image, there is a pair of peregrines in a ledge display over the location where the eggs were. Whether the falcon ate the eggs or removed them is a mystery - in any case this is troubling. And then today (Friday) - It looks like things may be back on track at Valley. After the loss of the 2 eggs here earlier this week, it appears the pair (maybe the same female - maybe not) has another egg. This egg was laid in a different scrape from the first 2. It'll be interesting to see where this all goes. Noel Cutright, Ozaukee County #################### You received this email because you are subscribed to the Wisconsin Birding Network (Wisbirdn).
