Took the short drive to the Brooklyn Wildlife Area today. A murder of crows welcomed me. There wasn't a lot of action, saw a solitary sand hill crane, a hawk too far away to identify. I hiked along one of the drainage ditches and was photographing a chickadee when I thought it started making some strange noises. But it was an otter about 20 feet behind him that wasn't happy I was there. On the was back on Bellbrook Road I saw/photographed some horned larks chasing off a red tail hawk. Also spotted some tree sparrows and a sharp shinned hawk. Just glad to get out on what turned out to be a nice day. http://www.flickr.com/photos/93067783@N02/ Greg Hottman Village of Oregon, Dane Co.
