A Blackpoll Warbler was seen at Schlitz Audubon Nature Center this morning. Don Quintenz and his friend told Marilyn Bontly and me about seeing a Blackpoll and we would have been skeptical if we didn't know that Don is a careful observer. I relocated the bird about 20 minutes later and got excellent views of it down to its bright yellow-orange legs. Unfortunately it flew off before Marilyn could get a bead on it. Somebody should give this guy a migration schedule; he's way too early. More reasonably we saw many Yellow-rumps, some Palm Warblers, a Black and White Warbler, a Pine Warbler, a N. Waterthrush and another early bird--a singing Nashville Warbler.
