I joined the birders at Bay Beach Sanctuary this morning for the warbler walk.
Jim indicated that the previous ones had been very poor, with wet conditions
and lots of mosquitos. Today was totally different. The dozen (about) of us
had great birding and limited mosquitos, especially with the strong breeze.
For the 3+ hours we tallied about 70 species, that included about 20 warblers,
4 vireos (including 3 Phil. Vireos) a few flycatchers and 3 thrushes, etc.It
was a fun time with the birds and birders. Hopefully the Sat field trip will
be as productive and enjoyable. Thanks to the birds and birders for a great
time.
