At 7:00 PM this evening I had an American Bittern (thank you John McCaw!),
Virginia Rail and 4 Green Herons (jockeying for position) at the big lagoon in
Humboldt Park. Other notables were Red-Breasted Mergansers, Marsh Wren,
Caspian Terns, Pied-billed Grebes and Swamp Sparrows. Not bad for a man made
urban pond, eh?
