hi,
As of 4:30pm when i left the beach the avocet was still there.
I only had shit cam w/me because of early afternoon predicted rain (that
didn't happen) & even though my legs had nothing left to give, i decided to
walk home & stop & check beach. I immediately saw the bird & said out loud
several times you got to be effin kidding me, .. but the R version. So i
sprinted home & got cam & went back. Bird was not there, but returned after a
few minutes only to be chased off by a gull before it landed. So it went to he
other end of the beach. .. & i watched & crept up a bit. It rested & fed a bit
& i went to use the flagpole wall as a blind in hopes of having a better view
of it feeding, but it rested more.
The bird i missed out on last year, i finally saw today. It is an incredibly
beautiful bird.
