Rain is a good time to bird as it keeps down the pedestrian and dog walker
traffic.
So I headed to Tiedeman pond and had the fun of scoping 60 white pelicans!!
Then 10 drake wood ducks streaming together across the pond. Then a try for
warblers -but just a yellow and a yellow rumped. half hour try for that spot
and then back to the pelicans which were now herding fish etc in a group
-pushing the prey and feeding as they swept up one side and then back again on
my side of the pond. Through the scope at this distance I could see the fish
and frogs maybe trying to get out of the pouch -then a big gulp with head
thrown back and down the hatch they went. Pretty exicted to see this closer
than I have before. d
