Email Shortcut Fri Nov 17, 2000 3:02 pm Here´s how to create a desktop email shortcut that when clicked will open up a blank message form without opening up your entire email program. Right-click any blank area of the desktop, and choose New - Shortcut. Type "mailto:"; (wihout the quotation marks) for the command line. Click Next, type any name you want for the shortcut, and then click Finish. Now whenever you want to write an email, just click the shortcut icon and a blank email form will open up for you ready to use. *** Update Notes This works on all versions of Windows from 95 to XP This also works with Outlook not just Outlook Express *** Related: Newsreader shortcut Sun Feb 25, 2001 9:22 am Using the "outnews" switch with Outlook Express's msimn.exe, you can create a shortcut that takes you directly to the OE Newsreader. (handy if you use newsgroups a lot).
