The Santa Bus is ready to roll.
Winnipeg Transit�s fundraiser for the Christmas Cheer Board hits the road
Wednesday, its 25th consecutive year.
The festively decorated transit bus, which features larger-than-life
images of Santa and his reindeer on the exterior, operates like a regular
transit bus but with a major difference: All cash fares and donations
collected on the Santa Bus go directly to the Christmas Cheer Board.
The Santa Bus collected over $16,000 last year and has raised over
$304,000 since its inception in 1985.
The Santa Bus will be featured on four transit routes this year:
#11 Portage-Kildonan, Dec. 1-5;
#14 Ellice-St. Mary�s, Dec. 6-12;
#16 Osborne-Selkirk, Dec. 13-19;
#18 Corydon, Dec. 20-24;
