Thanks very much! I did a google search and not one of the news sites showed a
photo of the bus. I am not sure I would have enjoyed having an SUV rocket
towards me, had I of been seated in the low floor section of the bus though.
Can you imagine? It would be at your height! At least the high floors had the
protection of height from this sort of thing.
Interesting too that this happened to the NIS express, obviously a very busy
route at that time of day.
I also updated my spreasheet with your Tuesday obs.

yes, 115.
Unlike the SUV, the bus wouldn't have made a very sensational photo for the
paper. There are buses in service with worse bodies than what I saw on 115.

Thanks Matt, I was just going to post about this as WFP picked it up. They
showed a couple of photos but neither shows the bus itself! WTH?
Was 115 the bus in question?

This morning my radio told me that Portage westbound was closed because
of an accident involving a transit bus. So, rather than walking to work I
made a beeline for Arlington to catch the next 71 (392 with no heat). The
71 was forced to turn short of Portage at St. Paul, and all westbound
Portage service was routed north on Arlington, west on St Matthews and
south on Dominion.
The accident occurred at Portage and Lipton, where what was once a Chevy
Blazer T-boned the bus right around the side-facing seats opposite the
rear door. The bus's visible damage was slight (dents) but there might be
structural damage underneath. It was probably driven back to the garage.
The bus was idling and signed 'not in service' when I passed by. The
route card was placed in such as manner as to hide the first digit, only
_5-10 was visible (possibly 25-10?).
From the looks of things it seemed the SUV was crossing Portage when it
hit the bus. Perhaps the SUV driver was feeling invincible as s/he sped
north across Portage, somehow failing to notice the large imposing
lumbering noisy white behemoth directly in her/his path.
