You need to do the AD Forestprep and Domain Prep. Use the AD Forestprep and
Domain Prep on the 2nd cd and not the first. Google on upgrade 2000 domain
will give you the document you need.

Subject: [windows2000] Windows 2000 to Windows 2003 Active Directory

I have a Windows 2000 Active directory server and I want to add a second dc
- the new server is Windows 2003 R2

Does anybody have the KB article of extending the AD schema to move to a
Windows 2003 R2 AD on the W2k server before adding the 2nd server? Or an
easier procedure?

Thanks
Dave
