[windows2000] Re: User not able to download Windows Updates from Microsoft's website

they are piggybacking off of another users cable modem connection.  There is
only a Linksys router on the network, and it consists of 3 pc's.  The other
2 pc's have no problem getting updates.  It happened to someone I know, not
actually in my workplace.

I once had a user that couldn't download updates because they didn't
have access through the firewall for "https".  Just a thought

Yes it shows the percentage after you hit the "scan for updates" link,
and then it just comes back to the same page, not displaying any
updates.  Just wondering if anyone has ever seen this happen, where you
can't download updates after it starts trying to scan the computer to
see what updates it needs to download.

I have a user running Windows 2000 that cannot download updates from
Microsoft's website.  I heard it may have something to do with Microsoft
outsourcing their update server traffic to akamai or something like
that.  Any ideas?
