[windows2000] Slow WUP?

Hi all,
Has anybody noticed that Windows update is incredibly slow now, and has
been so for some days now?
Also there's some verification thingie slowing things down when
downloading the patches from WUP, making any new installation and
following update some hours longer...
Anybody know what's going on?
