Check out RMTSHARE.exe from the Resource kit... Made to order for this!

C:\>rmtshare
The syntax of this command is:

RMTSHARE \\server
          \\server\sharename
          \\server\sharename=drive:path [/USERS:number | /UNLIMITED]
                               [/REMARK:"text"]
                               [/GRANT [user[:perm][ /GRANT user[:perm]]]]
                               [/REMOVE user]
          \\server\sharename=printername /PRINTER [/USERS:number |
/UNLIMITED]
                               [/REMARK:"text"]
                               [/GRANT [user[:perm][ /GRANT user[:perm]]]]
                               [/REMOVE user]
          \\server\sharename [/USERS:number | /UNLIMITED]
                               [/REMARK:"text"]
                               [/GRANT [user[:perm][ /GRANT user[:perm]]]]
                               [/REMOVE user]
          \\server\sharename /DELETE

NOTE: if a sharename or path contains spaces, it should be enclosed
          in quotes:
            \\server\"with space"="c:\with space"
The command completed successfully.

Subject: [windows2000] Remotely changing disk sharing

I need to remotely change sharing permissions on a bunch of NT4
workstations. I do NOT have any remote control software (VNC, Tivoli, etc)
on these (political reaason for that). I do have administrator rights to
them but that does not allow access to change sharing rights remotely via
"normal" means. Since I can use regedt32 to remotely tweek the registry,
I'm hoping that the disk shares can be manipulated there - could not find
that in my 5 minute look. Anyone know if that can be done, or another way
to remotely change the disk shares?

More details available if desired...

Thanks
