If you are want to control a W2K server, why not just use the built-in terminal services in admin mode? There's no additional cost and it works well. I use it for all my W2K servers. -----Original Message----- From: Robert Murray [mailto:rwmtech@xxxxxxx] Sent: 10 August 2002 10:33 To: windows2000@xxxxxxxxxxxxx; windows2000 digest users Subject: [windows2000] Remote Control Greetings, I'm in the process of installing a Windows 2000 client/server network for a company, and will continue to administer the beast for a while, preferably from home. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions, preferences, advice or comments about Remote Control software for W2K, specifically the GUI-control type that allows me to be like I'm sitting at the server console. On NT 4 I've used Timbuktu - not too bad. I also played around with GoToMyPC, but am not interested in a monthly charge type of thing, just an off-the-shelf program. I'm going to be setting up a VPN between my home W2K system (Cable modem/router) and the company LAN (DSL modem/router), which should be an interesting exercise, FWIW. I don't know if it's possible, but I would also like to be able to exercise the same control over other (user) system on the LAN. Everything is W2K. What's the best software out there these days for this kind of thing?
