the problem is that is an old version for them. If you want to add that, you
will have to upgrade everything and wind up paying a small fortune.

We were on that version with all the agents etc and it was going to cost us
another 5K to upgrade to the new version and buy new add-ins for everything
else.

We looked at it a little more closely and figured out how to do it with the
tools that come with Windows 2000. If you install the exchange tools on your
backup server, you get the ability to back up your exchange 2000 server with
ntbackup.

It's a seperate option pack from Veritas. Call them or your software
provider and ask them for the Exchange package. I don't think it comes with
the capability to backup Exchange out of the box.

Thank you, Dennis, but I'm at version 8.5. Still, the versions might be
close enough so that you could help.

What we are wondering about is how does Veritas backup things like MS
Exchange 2000 Server? And SQL Server 2000? In the Job Definition tab we
see a dialog box that lists "SQL" and "Exchange", but we don't understand
what goes in there, how often it gets backed up (because it doesn't look to
us like it is getting backed up as often as we would like), and that kind of
thing.

Can you help us?

Rod
