Serious enough to make it not work. I have replaced several fusers in HP printers. Easy to do. http://www.thelaserguys.com/ <http://www.thelaserguys.com/> sells rebuilt HP fusers and some other things for HP printers. I have had good luck with them. I have a HP LJ 6, just like a LaserJet 5, except it has a "companion" sheetfed scanner that attaches to it. I love these machines, small footprint and all. The LJ 6 quit printing, and I got it to cough up a code that says "fuser error". Now, I am no expert, but that suggests to me that instead of driving an hour across town to have the HP service folk tell me "its toast", that I should go buy one of those $100 Brother Lasers. Anyone have experience with these, or even anyone able to tell me if a "fuser error" is serious? Mark
