I have both running on a win2k server with about 20 users in the environment
with 1gb of RAM and PIV 2.4 Gz processor( I may be wrong on the proceesor
speed...recalling from memory) and no disk array set up on that server @ all. I
am not sure about those apps. It runs fine most of the time; however, it seems
pervasive is a little weighty @ times....not sure if the app you are talking
about is using the relational side of pervasive or only the transactional side
and is actually an old btrieve app...in which case I would think lengthy
complex reports may act as a bit of a hog. HTH

Subject: [windows2000] OT: Pervasive.SQL and MS SQL

The installation of two new software packages was ordered by our school
board... CounterPoint (a Point-of-Sale program), and Dentrix (a dental
recordkeeping program, I believe). CounterPoint requires a Pervasive.SQL
database on either NetWare or Windows, and Dentrix requires MS SQL on
Windows. Does anyone have any experience with running either of these
programs? We're planning on purchasing another Windows server, and I'm
hoping I can run both of these from the same server. Does anyone have
experience with Pervasive and MS SQL running on the same server?

Sorry for the OT post...

Andrew
